Barbara again scooped double semi-final positions at the UK Songwriting Contest 2009 and began collaboration on an exciting new project with DJ LIGHT. 2008AUGUST Barbara repeated her songwriting success of last year at The BRIT Trust's (of BRIT AWARDS fame) UK Songwriting Contest 2008. This is an International Songwriting Contest which is supported by some of the most highly respected names in music including BBC Radio, Music Aid, the BRIT school, The Guild of International Songwriters and Composers, The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, The International Song Copyright Agency, Sibelius, Broadjam, Virtual Studio Systems, Backbeat Books and many other leading music industry professionals, organisations and companies. Again, all of Barbara's entered songs won awards including two semi-final positions in the pop and jazz/blues catagories. JUNE Barbara composed the soundtrack to Chinese animator Huiyuan Li's animation ESCAPE INTO NATURE. Barbara's debut twelve-track album S C A P E S was released on the Judmusic Records label. MARCH As an up-and-coming creative, Barbara was chosen by the 'Boost' scheme to benefit from their sponsored mentorship programme in the West Midlands. 2007NOVEMBER HOUSE IN THE WOOD produced a Calendar featuring Peter and Barbara's landscape and wildlife photography in and around Brandon Wood. AUGUST Barbara entered five songs across five different genres in the UK Songwriting Contest. The catagories were pop, country/folk, jazz/blues, dance and miscellaneous. All five songs won awards, with the pop and the miscellaneous entries being in semi-fnal positions.
